After splitting up the kids into two groups we started the tour. First, the kids had a lesson on feeding the animals. She talked about the different kinds of hay, grains and vitamins each animal ate. Not very interesting to most 3 and 4 year olds, but especially not to a bunch of "city kids" as the other moms called them. It was a quick lesson, as the kids started wandering towards the animals.
Next, it was time for the kids to feed the animals. Zachary seemed excited as he stood in line but, once he was at the front of the line he wasn't so sure.
"Miss" Wendy (one of his teachers) gave Zach a hand getting the hay in the right spot for the ponies.
Then, with the sheep he tried it on his own!
But, after that he was done! The other kids gave some llamas their vitamins but, as soon as our group approached, one of the llamas spit on a mom and that was enough for Zach to stay away! He was ready for the lesson on animal first aid.
After the lessons and snack it was time for the pony rides. I didn't even ask Zach if he was interested, he was very happy with the pony he found!
Molly Jayne even joined in for a few brief moments, until a chicken came her way!
