Dear Baby

 Dear Baby-

We just hit 17 weeks on Friday, which we are really thinking is more like 18 since we know we'll get to meet you a few days (hopefully a full week) before your "due date." This week we had the opportunity to see you for about 35 minutes! You are quite the little gymnast, thankfully Momma can't feel all those twists, turns, flips and punches just yet. You definitely let the ultrasound tech know you did not appreciate her invading your space! We got some great pictures of your back, but that was about all! We'll be seeing you again at length in a couple of weeks when there is another ultrasound to check your on your heart one more time.

Your brother and sister are still getting used to the idea that you are in Momma's belly. I don't think they believe it yet! You'll be making your presence known to them soon enough when they jump on you! I told Zach just the other day that soon you'll start pushing back at him when he jumps on you, in true sibling fashion. For now Zachary and Molly Jayne assure me that you are going to be a baby sister, guess we'll find out next time if they are right. For now Zachary thinks we need to name you "Kylie and Reagan" or "Molly Jayne Beth." He hasn't grasped the fact that you might be actually be a baby brother!

Pregnancy update- The whole point of in this is to publicly track just how miserable everyone in our house is when we are expecting another baby, this can/will be our constant reminder that we really don't want to go through this again! When people ask how I am feeling or how we are doing my simple answer is we are in survival mode!

The term "pregnancy induced" is something I am hearing all too much these days! So far its been, PI (pregnancy induced) Hyperthyroidism, PI anxiety, PI depression, PI carpal tunnel---on top of the normal nausea and fatigue (both of which are intensified by the hyperthyroidism). These are just the daily reminders of why my body is not meant to be pregnant!

Josh has been AMAZING! Seriously the guy has a TON on his plate and this pregnancy has not been easy on him either! He has been doing all the grocery shopping for months, which is not a task he enjoys but goes willing to help the rest of us survive. The kids and I attempted one grocery shopping trip back in August and we had to leave to store before we got everything on the list. Just walking through the store looking at food was enough to me loose anything that was in my stomach. Heck, who am I kidding I cant even make the list for the store without loosing it! Thankfully that's getting a little better and I seem to do ok in stores like Costco and Sam's Club. Now we are just praying it keeps getting better! On top of grocery shopping Josh has also been doing almost all the laundry, I can handle about one load a day but that doesn't cut it when trying to keeping up with it all. And the dishes, oh those nasty things! Josh has been doing ALL the dishes, bless his heart!  Did I mention all of this is on top of his 14-16 hour days?!

Feeding the kids is my biggest challenge daily, thankfully they are happily surviving on lunchables, toast, yogurt sticks, and pre sliced apples from Costco! We have also scummed to buying pre mixed chocolate milk, the kids ask for milk first thing every morning and after several morning of loosing my stomach at the thought of pouring their morning milk, I gave in and bought (well ordered actually through our at home grocery service--to be honest) the pre mixed stuff. And to top it off, we have been visiting McDonald's enough that Zach knows which number I get depending on what time of day it is! See, sounds gross, right?! But it stays down! Even my doctor and trainer have finally given up on getting me to eat, empty calories are better then no calories these days.

We are approaching the half way point and hoping that with that big milestone, things will start improving even more! The kids and I are going to attempt the grocery store this afternoon (with no list), here is to hoping its a good day and we can make to and through the store!

This bucket has been my constant companion for what seems like a lifetime! But its getting better, I only keep it by the bed and carry around gallon size zip lock bags everywhere else I go. Would you believe this is the only bucket in our house?! We figured that out the hard way when Zach caught a stomach bug and need it just as much as I did for a few days!
For months I had been trying to figure out just how we were going to announce this pregnancy. I had several ideas (almost all thanks to Pinterest). And for the first 2 weeks we knew we where expecting I was really excited about all the possibilities, well that quickly faded once the reality of the pregnancy (getting sick 24/7) set in. We told my mom first, because she was here and a stomach bug can only last so long. There was no way we could keep it from her, I was obviously not myself! After that I had several ideas on how to share the news with Josh's folks, none of which actually happened! With the help of some girlfriends in town for the weekend I finally managed to pull it all together enough to produce the above photo! And for the record both the ice cream and the pickles are Josh's. I haven't gone near the either since early summer!

So, being the bad guy here - you can have all the reminders in the world, but if you aren't done, you aren't done. Not a whole lot you can do about that! :P You can try your hardest but we are not the ones in charge here!

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better! Hang in there girly! I will offer what relief I can in the coming months to help you get through.

A box went in the mail today that will be a fun surprise for all of you! Hang tough!!
