Our week in Antigua

WOW, what a wonderful week we had! We missed our little guy like crazy but it helped knowing that he was in VERY capable and loving hands. So here are some highlights of our fun in the sun!
As soon as we got our bags, we changed into our suits and headed out to find some lunch. There was this great pizza place that was open, but it took FOREVER to get our meal. We went back several more times during our stay but we made sure we weren't starving when we ordered. Now, granted, my pedicure was about three weeks old when I got there, but it didn't even survive 24 hours in the Caribbean. Thankfully, I came prepared and by the end of the week I had redone all my toes (one day at a time).
One of the activities that we participated in was a snorkeling tour. Now for those of you who know me, this was quite a feat for Josh to get me to agree to this...my three biggest fears in life are, (in no particular order), my car breaking down on the side of a road, snakes, and SHARKS. During the entire boat ride to the reef, the driver was calling us "shark bait"! I know he was only trying to give us a hard time, it was hard to think about that when we were swimming all around the reef. All in all it was a lot of fun and the only real exciting things we saw were some jelly fish (not the dangerous kind). Josh really enjoyed playing with the jelly fish and jumping off the top deck of the boat before we returned. We enjoyed it enough that we wanted to go out again but we just kept forgetting to sign up. The lack of responsibilities caught up to us :)
Can you see his toes?! This is one of the big reasons why I actually got in the water, it was so clear. Even when I was in the water to my shoulders I could pretty much see all the way to the sand. Josh loved just sitting on the balcony enjoying the breeze and the view.
Heading out to dinner on the beachWe thought of you often Rick! We were on the 4th floor so we saw this A LOT! :)Our biggest decision every day was beach or pool, rough life isn't :) So most days we would start out on the beach under one of these shaded things. Then by the afternoon, we were in by the pool.Doesn't that look like a pool?! Well, it is not. The water was so beautiful we just couldn't get enough of it! Guess we'll have to go back!
Josh enjoyed playing with his toes in the soft warm sand. We were surprised at how "warm" the sand was. I think we were expecting it to be almost "hot" just because it was so warm outside. We took a few walks on the beach at night and by the time the sun went down the sand was almost cold. Not at all what we expected.
Heading to dinner on our last night. I decided that on my last day of being able to soak up some sun, I was going to go sunscreen free. It worked out for me (I tan easy), but Josh thought he would join me.....it didn't work out so well for him. He was extra crispy for the plane ride home.
The view from our room, we could sit on the balcony for hours! Our last view of the BEAUTIFUL blue Caribbean water!!!!
Back home with my little guy! Oh happy day! :)

Anyone want to go with us next time?! We had such a great time! We were really able to relax and just enjoy spending time with each other. The food was terrific! We decided the all inclusive resort is definitely the way to go. It was great knowing that everything was already paid for, and we didn't have to worry about carrying cash or cards with us, tipping for drinks or paying for any meal, we WILL definitely do this again (some day)! :)

Sign us up!! I have always wanted to do something like that. I have heard Angigua is amazing. It looks like you had a great time. Maybe when we get stationed in the lower 48 we could squeeze in some sort of carribean vacation! Zachary is too cute, so big already. Love those eyes!
