One
of the things that I need to admit that I LOVE about living in Las
Vegas are all the opportunities it presents for us to see family and
friends! We absolutely cherish the times that we have been able spend
with people while they are here on vacation or just passing through.
In May we had a visit with Janet. Janet was my first babysitter as a child, and she quickly became someone I have always considered family. I love listening to her stories and watching her with my kids!
Although it was a brief visit, it was so much fun catching up with the Sheehan's on their way through town in early June. Then again in August, when we both happened to be in Oregon visiting our families at the same time. Our families sure have grown from our days back in Mississippi!
We knew the Lewis family was coming to town for a family reunion but, I had to snag some time with one of my closest friends! They helped us celebrate Broden's blessing at church. I am every grateful that we just happen to be the halfway point for them on all their trips to and from Utah as well! It"s a win win for both of us...they get a break from the car and I get to spend some time with friends!
And you know it's summer time, so that means a visit from Grams! Zachary is finally starting to figure out that Grams comes whenever he is out of school. But, if you ask him, he likes them both so much that he wishes Grams could be here for school too! We were blessed enough to be with Grams for six and a half weeks this summer! This is the second summer she has spent with us here in Las Vegas and we have been horrible hosts! July is our month to hibernate because it is just too dang HOT to go outside for more than a few minutes here and there. Plus, last summer, I was sick everyday. And this year, I had surgery...so next summer we will be showing her some of what Las Vegas has to offer (hopefully). We can't wait to see you and Grandpa at Christmas!
Our
last visitors for the summer came just 48 hours after Grams left and
boy were my kids thrilled to see Aunt Pam and Abbey! Who am I kidding,
we were all thrilled to see them! They were here to help in my last week
of recovery. I was finally feeling pretty normal, so we got to venture
out a bit. One big activity a day was kind of my limit. But, on one of
Josh's days off, we all went downtown and explored the M&M Factory
and the Coca-Cola Store. It was the perfect drizzly day. The tourists
were all taking shelter and the Oregonians weren't even phased by the
dampness!
Las Vegas is just the place to be!
