A few weeks ago we got hit by a storm on a Sunday afternoon. They had been talking about us flash flooding for several days but not one drop of rain. Then it was POURING buckets for about 3 hours and the "rivers" started very quickly! I am so grateful we live at the top of the valley here. We had been getting warnings that the next several monsoon seasons could be pretty damaging after the forest fire that we had up at Mt. Charleston this summer. They have told us it won't be uncommon for us to see flooded streets down here even if we never get rained on.
