Last Saturday, we headed down to Red Rock Canyon to do a bit of hiking with the Lessin family.
It was a beautiful day and we were all excited to get out and enjoy the
warm mid-January weather! We knew that we couldn't stay too long, because
once the sun starts to set behind the mountains, the temperature drops.
As soon as we picked our trail and started down the path, I could only
think about how much fun this place would be without little ones. Just
at the one parking lot we started from, there were several trails and
climbs that would be awesome to try someday!
As we
made our way down one of the canyons, we found the softest sand I have
ever seen! It felt more like powder than sand! And when we got home it
was EVERYWHERE!
After we got back to our cars
and
packed up, we finished the 13 mile scenic drive to exit the park. It's a
one way loop, so we didn't have much of a choice. Zach was asleep before
we reached the end and Molly Jayne spent most of the ride with her
window down and her head sitting on the side of the door. Poor thing,
she has
my genetics when it comes to motion sickness! People ask me all the
time why I have three car seats across my center seat, this will be a
great example!
