"The Cities"

Last weekend we headed east about 4 hours to spend the weekend in "the cites." Our first stop was The Mall of America. Since it was already way past lunch time our first destination was The Rainforest Cafe. We also ate there during our trip to Disney World back in May and Zach had really enjoyed it, thinking he would enjoy it even more now I thought we would go again. Boy, was this mom WRONG! I am not sure if he was just too tired an hungry or what but he was not a fan of "eating with Curious George" (what we were told by the hostess). Thank goodness for Grandma! She helped cover his ears and eyes every time the noise started. And she fed him his entire lunch because he was not removing his hands from his ears!
Guess, its not one of the first restaurants we will try out in Las Vegas! By the way Molly really thought it was great!

Next we were off is shop and explore part of this HUGE place! We stayed in the south wing of the mall and only walked on two of the four levels, honestly it was a bit overwhelming after living in the middle of nowhere Mississippi for the 17 months! Grandma took Zach to "watch the big kids" at the indoor amusement park and down to play at Lego Land while Molly and I did some quick shopping.
After "the Mall" we headed up north to check into our hotel and meet up with Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Knutson. We went swimming in the pool with Alex and Jacob and then headed over tho their house for dinner.
Saturday it was time for the party! Jacob and Alex (Josh's youngest cousins) turned 4! The had their party at an indoor play ground! It was AWESOME! The kids had a blast!
Great Grandma, Grandma, and Great Aunt Lisa
(Kerrie with her Mom and sister)
The boys went straight for the sugary, sweet, colorful tops!
Who needs a cupcake when you can chew on a shoe and a paci?!
Zach LOVED the slide and when down it more times then I could count! If he wasn't on the slide he was getting lost in the 5 story tube tunnels! Thankfully he quickly discovered that the slide was much more fun then getting lost!
Alex and Zach trying to savor a few more minutes of fun before left the party. Can you tell, they are exhausted!?

After the party it was time for some tax free SHOPPING!! The big item on my list was an early birthday gift for Grandma. So just before we were about to head out on our shopping trip Zachary gave Grandma a birthday card with a "We owe you a COACH purse!" I had been planning this for weeks and was so excited for her, it's her first! :) And she was actually planning on looking for a new purse at the mall so since we got her the purse she treated herself to a wallet.
Happy early birthday Grandma!!!!
