When your alam clock goes off at 4:30 AM....

4:30am-It starts off like any other morning I hit the snooze button and roll back over for 5 more minutes.

4:45am- Josh's alarm clock goes off I know its really time to crawl out of bed and get layered up. It was a cool morning so I dressed appropriately (threes shirts, a jacket and two pairs of pants)

5:15am-We wake our slumbering little one and put him in the car as he glares at us wondering what just happened. He was sleeping so peacefully in his nice warm bed just moments ago.

5:55am-Realize that we probably need to get some gas to ensure we make it to Cincinnati and back.

6:27am- Pull in to the parking lot at Coney Island Park (its a water park). Josh heads off to pick up his race packet and get his timing clip.

7:45am-Josh has his transitions all set up and Zachary is a wake and getting ready to watch Dad compete in his first triathlon8:12am- Josh enters to pool and begins his 700 meter swim (that's right around a half mile) FYI it was only 51 outside, the water was warmer than the air!

8:23am- Rounding the first corner for the second lap.

8:28am- Josh exits the pool and heads off to being the 18.6 mile bike

9:34am- 2 down 1 to go! Josh begins the 3.1 mile run10:04am- YAY!!!! Josh completes his first sprint triathlon!!!! Just under his 2 hour goal, woooohoooo!10:48am- We are hitting the highway and heading back home
(Josh is still smiling...Zachary is ready to take a nap)
11:15am (ish)- Wishing we had a bike rack so we would have room in the back seat to comfort our screaming child, this was just a little much for him so early in the day.

12:03pm- Home, unpacked, fed and sleeping little guy....nap time for all!

Josh had so much fun that he is ready to do it again! He even has me talked into trying it too. Any one else want to join us???? We finally found on that's on a Saturday (July 11th). Only this time Josh says that he will swim more in his training. I though the did pretty good for only getting in the pool 2 times before today :)
