A little piece of home

Josh and I were able to attend a Dayton Bombers Hockey game on Saturday night courtesy of my brother (thanks Jason!) We had a great time! It reminded us both of the many hockey games that we had attended over the years in Anchorage. One of the big perks to hockey in Dayton.....Anchorage is know for all the cow bells during the game, which makes every game LOUD. The crowd here in Dayton was much quieter and you could tell that hockey just isn't quite the crowd gather as it is in Anchorage. All in all we had a great time, we sat right on the ice just a few seats away from the penalty box! Oh I almost forgot.....we even got to watch a staged fight! It was hilarious! They started off tossing their gloves to the ice in the far corner and just kept circling each other (smiling from ear to ear) until they reached center ice....then eventually they took a few shots at each other but they weren't doing a whole lot of aiming, so they just kept hitting each other in the shoulder pads! We got quite a kick out of the entire thing!

Thanks Jason for giving a little piece of Alaska in Ohio!

I'm glad to hear you guys thought the fight was staged too - we thought it was pretty funny! Almost choreographed!

I miss the cowbells! Did you ever go to a U.A.A. game? I loved the fights that would break out on the ice during home games. That and the fish heads that would get thrown out on the ice for the first goal. Crazy! We might go see a hockey game this weekend and I am so excited! It's been years for us {New Orleans doesn't have an official team anymore} but now we can see the Stars play when they're 'home'. It sounds like you guys have been having a lot of fun lately- first the concert and then this! That's awesome!
