Weekend projects.....

Dana and I have been working on a few projects over past few weekends and thought we would share some of the progress.....I started sanding and striping our old table and chairs a few weeks ago and will be re-staining them darker once I'm all done. I'm also sanding and staining a baby walker airplane for Zachary's room.....and I'm then going to move on to the four bar stools we have in the kitchen. Needless to say I'm getting plenty of use out of one of my newest toys, a hand held electric sander.

Additionally, our crib and changing station arrived the other weekend. Both of us got the chance to try out handy work at putting it together.... we nearly made the mistake of NOT reading the both the crib AND changing table de'structions before starting. It's a good thing we found the wood glue... grandpa Knutson would be proud!!!!... and applied it only to the changing table and NOT the crib because it converts to a toddler bed.

Check out those curtains!

The other weekend Dana's favorite college team 'Bama played my favorite team the LSU Tigers! In the middle of the game LSU was winning so I decided not to gloat and check the mail. Fortunently our new curtains had arrived. So instead of watching the rest of the game we diceded it would be better to go to Home Depot to get curtain rods. My team was winning so I said "ah........ alright, if it'll make you feel better". So we put up the curtain, get back to the game and 'Bama wins in overtime by one touchdown!!!!! You'd think if you went to the man store Home Depot while your team is ahead it'd be a sure thing they'd win. Well, better luck next weekend.

Lastly, Dana has been working on a quilt for Zachary. So far it looks like this.... half way there. Quilting is no easy task, especially when you have a belly full of a squirming baby. The sewing machine and Dana's back are getting quite a work out so it's Dad to the rescue on Dana's back, sorry can't help with the sewing machine.
