Life in Ohio

Its official we have now been in Ohio for just over 3 weeks! Although I must admit some days it feels as we have been here for months! However as soon as I walk out the door, get in my car and try and figure out which way is north, south, east, or west I soon come back to the reality that I have no idea where I am! We haven't had much time for exploring the area. The week we arrived was spent trying to just understand the base and how its set up. Compared to Elemendorf this base is insane, there is no rhythm or reason to any of it, or so it seems to us. One day we will understand....why there seem to be 20 different gates and only 4 or 5 ever seem to be open. Anyways, we were able to get into our house rather quickly and in fact our household items arrived in Ohio before we did! Unpacking....now that's a different story......We had packed two complete households and tried to do the organizing as we unpacked (what were we thinking??!!!!). It took us a bit to find all the different boxes and sort through all of our things but we did! And now the only thing we have yet to do is put pictures up on the walls! Its so nice to be in our own home finally!

Josh headed to his new position within days of our arrival. He has spent most of the time trying to get to know his new "office" job. There was ALOT of computer based training that was driving him pretty crazy, but he completed all of that last week and now he can jump right in to a project. Josh says he is more of a hands on learner and he is looking forward to one day understanding what it is he is supposed to be doing. :) Thats what happens when you change careers. He was talking to my mom the other night on the phone, trying to explain to her what his job entails......he said "I work in a vault, use acronyms, and ask questions."

As for me.....not working has been pretty hard on me. I truly loved what I was doing and its been really hard to think about the possibility of me not working. I get online and check daily to see if there is a position with Wells Fargo that I could take (and that I am qualified for). I was pretty excited to hear about the merger Wells has with Wachovia...then I realized that Ohio is still one of the handful of states neither company currently does business in. But I am sure that once the baby arrives I will have plenty to do to keep my busy and occupied.

Well thats all for now....although I am sure that I will be updating this blog pretty frequently, after all I need to post pictures of our house and the current activities in our lives. And Abigail since you have asked so nicely (multiple times) I will post some belly pics soon too!
